We have a midweek football league programme this week. With matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday 18th September
Top of the table Blackburn host Barnsley. Blackburn are unbeaten this season and currently have an 100% record at home. They have only kept 1 clean sheet all season though and matches they have been involved average 4 goals a game. Barnsley are unbeaten in 2 but have yet to pick a point up away from home. Second placed Blackpool welcome Middlesbrough to Bloomfield Road. Blackpool have not won in the last 2 games but have a 100% record at home, scoring, on average, 4 goals a game. Middlesbrough have lost both away games so far and with a trip to top of the table Blackburn at the weekend will be looking to change that here. In form Brighton travel to Watford. Brighton (unbeaten in 4) have won their last 3 games and have only conceded 3 goals all season. Whereas Watford have lost their last 2 games. Play-off placed Hull have a tricky tie away at Leeds. Hull have not won away from home this season have have failed to score in those games as well. Leeds have scored in all games this season and are unbeaten at home. Cardiff travel to Millwall. Cardiff have not won away from home this season, but will be buoyed by the fact Millwall have not kept a clean sheet this season. Millwall either win or lose and if the pattern continues are due a win in this game.It seems all the play off teams are all away today as Nottm Forest travel to Crystal Palace. Forest are unbeaten this season but have drawn all their away games. Rejuvenated Palace have now won 2 on the trot after losing the opening 3 games. Forest have scored in all 5 games so far and Palace have only kept 1 clean sheet.
Mid-table Bolton travel to relegation placed Birmingham. Bolton have lost both away games so far, scoring 1 and conceding 5. Birmingham are unbeaten at home and have scored in all these games. Bottom club Peterborough take on Bristol City at home. Peterborough have lost all games this season. They have no clean sheets and have only scored 4 times this year. Bristol City have just as bad a record away from home. 2 out of 2 defeats and have not scored on the road this year. They are not struggling for goals as at home have scored 11. They other game is at Pride Park as 2 struggling teams, Derby and Charlton, play each other. Derby are unbeaten at home and Charlton are yet to win away. Charlton games average less than 2 a game. Derby have 8 goals this season 7 of them at home.
Wednesday 19th September
Wednesday night sees Huddersfield travel to Sheff Wednesday. Huddersfield are unbeaten in 4 but have yet to win away from home. Sheff Wed have lost their last 2 games but have have a 100% record at home. Second bottom Ipswich entertain Wolves. Ipswich have drawn both games at home so far where as Wolves have lost both away games. The other game on Wednesday see 2 mid-table teams as Leicester host Burnley. Leicester have a 100% record at home and have not conceded a goal there so far. Leicester have yet to score in the first half of a game this season. Burnley have lost all games away from home and average 2.5 goals against them on their travels.
