League One Review

Tranmere are the new leaders of League 1 after a 2-0 win at home to Coventry. Tranmere are looking a strong team this year and are averaging over 2 goals a game whilst their defence have now kept 3 clean sheets in a row. Coventry have now lost 3 games on the trot, they have failed to win or keep a clean sheet this season. Notts County drop to second after they could only manage a 2-2 draw (1 of 5 draws today) at Oldham. County remain unbeaten away from home but will be disappointed with their first draw of the season. Oldham have only kept 1 clean sheet and are struggling to score this year. Stevenage remain unbeaten and stay 3rd after a 2-2 at home to Crewe. Stevenage have drawn all 3 homes games so far yet have won all 3 away games. They have scored in all games to date. Crewe drop to 14th after successive draws. Crawley move to 4th with their 4th win out of 6 after a 2-1 away at Preston. The result ended a 2 match winning streak for the home team. Walsall move into 5th with a 2-1 win at Portsmouth. Walsall are unbeaten in 5 whereas Portsmouth are struggling and only have 1 win so far this season.

MK Dons continued their fine home form against Yeovil with a 1-0 win. They have won all 3 games and have yet to concede at Stadium MK. Yeovil have now lost their last 2 games and drop to 6th. Sheff Utd drop out of the play off places as they could only muster a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Bury. Sheff Utd remain unbeaten but have drawn 4 out of the first 6 games only keeping 1 clean sheet. Bury also have only shut out the opposition once this season and remain in the bottom 4.

Colchester drop to the foot of the table as they lost 2-1 at home to Doncaster. Colchester have now lost their last 3 games and have yet to pick up a win. Donny was on a 2 game losing stream up to this but climb to 9th. Scunthorpe move off the bottom with a 1-0 away win at Shrewsbury. It was Scunthorpe's first win of the season but stay in the bottom 4. Shrewsbury have no win in their last 4. Thursday night saw Leyton Orient beat Brentford 1-0 at home. It was Orient's 2nd win on the trot where as Brentford are yet to win on their travels. Swindon and Carlisle played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Brunton Park. Swindon have no win in 3 and Carlisle are yet to keep a clean sheet. Bournemouth played put a 1-1 draw at home to Hartlepool. It was Bournemouth's 4th draw of the season and Hartlepool have yet to get a win away from home.
